Government disburses 2.09 billion for Inua Jamii cash transfer programme

Hon.Florence Bore, Cabinet secretary, Ministry of Labour and Social protection 

NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 3...Ministry of Labour and social protection has released Ksh  2,089, 844,000 for payment of beneficiaries enrolled in the inua jamii programme

 A further Ksh 5,930,000 for nutrition improvement through cash and health education (NICHE) which is a complimentary programme

The funds were credited to accounts of 1, 044, 922 inua Jami beneficiaries with each receiving KSh 2,000 being payment of December 2023 , payment om on Tuesday 2nd January 2024

Inua jamii beeneficiaries will be receiving their stipends through M-pesa platform while opharn and vulnerable children beneficiaries (OVC-CT) and persons with severe disabilities beneficiaries cash transfer (PwSD-CT) 

Caregivers are required to enroll for Mpesa payments by dialing *222# using there registered Mpesa phone numbers 

Older persons cash transfer  (OP-CT) beneficiaries will countinue to receive their funds through their bank accounts as usual

The cash transfer initiative by the government supports the most vulnerable members of the community by providing them with a stipend to cushion them from Poverty , hunger and bettering their lives
