Chinese Language Teachers Association of Kenya encourages cultural exchange between Kenya and China

NAIROBI, Kenya Dec 3... The highly anticipated event brought together Chinese language teachers , delegates from Chinese embassy in Kenya and members of the public in celebrating Chinese language and culture.

The association has over 200 teachers across different levels including primary,high school and tertiary schools teachers and lectures have managed to visit different schools teaching Chinese language and donated Audio-visual materials in enhancing the teachers teaching capacity 

Furthermore, the event acted as a bridge building between the two cultures which symbolizes beautiful harmony that arises when diverse communities come together , It embodies the essence of cultural exchange,  fostering,  understanding and promoting unity between Kenyans and Chinese

"As we celebrate 60 years of friendship between Kenya and China this year, we the alumni stand to be counted first as ambassadors of Kenya to China and Vice versa  with our actions and shared respect for both cultures" said Dr.Henry rotich, Chairperson, Kenya china alumni association speech read by Vice chairperson Nobert njoroge

Over the past 20 years there have been increase in number of chinese learners in the country with over 1,500 students having studied Chinese language in china and in Kenya and people going further as high as PhD level in Chinese language

Ms. Faith Mworia, chairperson chinese language teachers association of kenya,  called on for support in combating challenges faced by teachers saying that they face inadequate teaching and learning materials such as books and audio-visual learning materials and localized content that will in turn make teaching and learning more effective

"Through future collaborations we hope Chinese language teachers will be absorbed by Teachers service commision , we have had some Chinese teachers with masters in Chinese language struggle for recognition, we request TSC for a platform to discuss ways of mitigating these challenges and equiping our teachers" added Ms. Mworia 

As the association countinues to have a significant growth it encourages various stakeholders collaboration such as Chinese embassy in Kenya, Ministry of education, Teachers service commision , Kenya institute of curriculum development, different confucius institutes in Kenya, all schools as well as the general public.
