Railway Training Institute (RTI) commemorates its 61st graduation, sends 1,415 graduates into job market

NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 12... The 61st graduation ceremony  held at Railway Training Institute (RTI) main campus in South B, Nairobi was graced by Principal Secretary state department of transport Mohamed Daghar, Kenya Railways Managing Director Philip Mainga, Prof James Simiren Ole Nampushi Board of Chairman RTI among others.

A total of 1,415 graduates coming from academic years of 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 were ushered into the market in various fields which include  Maritime Studies, Business, Engineering, and more.  

Speaking at the ceremony PS Mohamed Daghar congratulated the graduates for their outstanding performance commending their hard work and dedication.

"We are proud  and honoured to usher in 1,415 graduates into the market where by they will be absorbed in various faculties in Engineering, Business, Maritime and entire Rail industry, RTI being in operation for over 100 years plays a pivotal role in ensuring students are equip with skills for the industry",said PS Daghar.

In addition other institutions coming from East Africa region for benchmark at RTI as it is considered the best in producing highly skilled graduates making the institution have many students in and outside the region pursuing careers in the industry.

The PS added that graduates from RTI who have excelled will have them absorbed in transport sector while others join different organizations noting that through the Institution is where competence needed in various government agencies and organizations is build.

"With confidence I am happy to confirm that our institutions have gender balance i commend county governments for playing a crucial role in ensuring support for ladies pursuing courses in the transportation sector bringing balance in place".

"The transport sector plays a pivotal role in Kenya’s development agenda, As graduates of this esteemed institution, you are now equipped to drive innovation and excellence within the industry", he added.

The government says that its determined to ensure that they continue to expand Country's Rail transportation system with commuter rail system being build of 168 kilometres with development of different lines moving from Riruta, Ngong, Kiserian and Rongai.
