Eighty schools to benefit from Epson initiative to enrich education through technology

NAIROBI,Kenya Jan 31... Global technology leader Epson has launched a school donation programme that will see 80 schools in the country receive printers, projectors and visualisers as part of an initiative to enrich education through technology. The programme is part of an initiative by Epson to give over 800 EcoTank printers and hundreds of bundles of interactive classroom kits to schools and hospitals across eight countries in the Middle East and Africa region (MEA) Epson has partnered with Liquid Intelligent Technologies, who will provide last mile support that will see schools receive equipment estimated at a cost KES 4.9 million, Liquid is already working on a programme with UNICEF to connect schools to the internet across the country. UNFPA and Kenya Red Cross join forces to deliver critical reproductive health supplies in ongoing El-Nino response

The Recent climate-driven disasters which include devastating drought and floods swept through various regions of Kenya, have had a profound impact on the lives of women and girls.  The disasters have exacerbated vulnerabilities in access to maternal healthcare, family planning, and the safety of those most susceptible to gender-based violence. It has affected over 500,000 people, including 58,000 pregnant and lactating mothers, the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA, and the Kenya Red Cross jointly flagged off the distribution of life-saving sexual and reproductive health supplies.  This vital assistance includes 174,000 assorted reproductive health kits and hygiene kits distributed supplies will bolster the ongoing flood response efforts in Garissa, Mandera, Tana River, Wajir, Isiolo, Samburu, and other affected counties. Tanzania bans Kenya Airways (KQ) passenger flights from its Air and Land space

Tanzania civil Aviation Authority has decided to rescind the approvals for Kenya airways (KQ) to operate passenger flights between Nairobi and Dar es salaam under third and forth freedom traffic rights "This is to reciprocate  the decision by the aenotical of the republic of Kenya to refuse the Tanzanian request for all cargo flights by Air Tanzania company limited" says a Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) Following the decision there shall be no passenger flights by KQ between Nairobi and Dar es salaam effective 22 January 2024 "The United Republic of Tanzania shall always strive to adhere to the principles of Chigaco Convention 1944 and Bilaterial Air Services Agreement between states " the statement reads further.
