PACJA engages with Parliamentarians as much anticipated Africa climate Summit approaches

The parliamentary dialogue at the sideline of Africa climate summit takes if on 31st to 1st September is set to give resolutions on climate in Africa

It comes as Kenya prepares to host the anticipated Africa Climate Summit (ACS) 2023 which is set to bring together various heads of states, partners, institutions and government representatives 

"We must ensure that our climate policies and actions are aligned with our climate policies with our development priorities and aspirations a articulated in 2063 agenda and sustainable development goals" Said Mithika Mwenda PACJA Executive director 

In addition with a theme of leaving no one behind to ensure climate issues are addressed in the country and given necessary solutions 

According to Senator Moses kajwang in absence of Senate Speaker Amason Kingi said that there is need to prepare the continent to a green economy adding that the much anticipated summit comes in timely as Africa faces various climatic challenges which need to be addressed 

"We must ensure that our continent is well equip and fully embraced pan Africa approach to give solutions in addressing the climatic condition in Africa" said Ojwang 

While commending the Pan-African parliament for it leadership and commitment to advancing climate justice and equity in Africa

"We appreciate you resolutions and recommendations on various climate rated issues which include renewable energy , climate finance , loss and damage, adaptation , mitigation and human rights " added Mwenda
