Kenya-China Alumni convoke to celebrate 60 years of friendship

During the Kenya-China 60 year friendship celebration 

NAIROBI, Kenya Dec 10...The celebration brought together Chinese business leaders, chairperson of Chinese women Association, Chinese overseas Association in Kenya and members of Kenya china alumni Association.

Unveiling the Kenya-China 60 years of friendship documentary , acknowledging outstanding alumni through awards and appreciating the artistic space through various perfomances were among key celebrations

The alumni in 2023 participated in sending 60 kenyans to china in pursue of their studies under the Chinese government scholarship, while over 100 have received short-term scholarship to study language and culture in different Chinese universities under the confucius institute

Subsequently the alumni over the years have grown from 001 in 1982 to over 1500 presently as the number is predicted to significantly increase in 2024

"China being a big source of tourists in Kenya with 2024 outbond Chinese tourists are projected to surpass pre 2019 highs with over 200,000 expected Chinese visiting Kenya to delight in the beautiful landscape wildlife and culture" said Henry Rotich, Chairperson of Kenya-China Alumni Association 

Culture centre is set for establishment through the support of Chinese embassy, which will serve as an hub for disseminating Chinese culture, fostering understanding and naturing appreciation of the rich cultural heritage shared between the two countries 

"As we embark on this exciting journey towards a brighter and more interconnected future , let us reaffirm over pledge to strengthen the bond between Kenya and China" added Mr rotich

5th Edition of Chinese Spelling Bee competition attracts more participants
