Blow to Football lovers as Multichoice announces it won't broadcast AFCON 2023

NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 4...Multichoice owned Supersport TV has announced that it won't be the broadcaster of AFCON matches 

The highly anticipated Afica's big football tournament is scheduled to kick off from 13 January to 11 february 2024.

"SuperSport channel will not broadcast the Africa cup of Nations (AFCON) because the channel has not secured the rights to broadcast the tournament" reads a statement by multichoice  

However AFCON 2023 games will be available through its patner broadcast station on Free to Air (FTA) channels 

"Multichoice Africa remains committed to ensuring football fans across Africa countinue to enjoy unrivalled acess to entertainment and football games available on DSTV and GOtv platforms" the statement reads further
