US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman resigns
NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 13...The US ambassador to Meg Whitman has submitted resignation to President Joe Biden stating that it has been a great honour to serve American people through strengthening of partnership with Kenya.
Meg's resignation came amid social media pressure since Donald Trump won the US election recently and set for inauguration as Joe Biden term comes to an end.
"Like all US ambassadors, I serve at the request of the president, the American people have spoken and new president will ne inaguareted in January i wish him and his team success", reads a statement by Meg Whitman.
Meg further adds that her efforts have open doors for more american companies to do businesses in Kenya through Why Africa, why Kenya presentation to American to the US companies and entrepreneurs expanding ties.
"We have responded to skyrocketing demand for our consuler services reducing waiting time for our non-immigrant Visa appointments from more than two years to about two months among other enhancements", said Whitman.
"Our relations are stronger than ever, and i am confident that this trajectory will continue, I will depart Kenya full of gratitude for the team that has work tirelessly on my behalf for the opportunity to serve my country and for the friendship offered by the government and people of Kenya".
