Africa Climate Summit releases Nairobi declaration and call to action to deepen cooperation, and strenghthen leadership for Green growth

NAIROBI, Kenya September 10...The Africa climate Summit co-hosted by the African Union commission the United Nations framework convention on climate change (UNFCCC)

President William Ruto announces the release of the African leaders Nairobi declaration on climate Change and call to action

The inaugural ACS was held in Nairobi with the presence of African and global leaders , Intergovenmental organisations, Regional economic communities , United Nations agencies , private sector , civil society organisations,  indegenous people, local communities  and youth 

"Our summit recognises that Africa is affected by the climate crisis but equally importantly it highlights that investing in the continent future can significantly benefit  the region and the world" said Joseph nganga, CEO of Africa climate summit

The declaration urges developed countries to honour their commitment  on providing $100 billion annually in the climate finance 

In addition they call for delivery on and beyond climate finance commitments , global carbon taxation, free growth and investments , loss and damage an urgent action on emmissions reduction
