Eldoret International Airport resumes cargo flight operations

NAIROBI, Kenya Mar 15...The noteworthy development comes as a result of concerted efforts by the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and key aviation stakeholders, including the Kenya Airfreight Handling Limited (KAICC), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and North Rift Economic Bloc (NoREB).

Return of cargo flights was celebrated with the arrival of an  Astral Aviation aircraft from Sharjah, UAE.

The momentous occasion was graced by several high-profile figures, including Nandi County Governor and Chair of NoREB, H.E. Stephen Sang, KAA Board Chairman, Hon. Caleb Kositany, and KRA Board Chairman, Mr. Anthony Mwaura, among other distinguished government officials. 

Speaking during the reception held at Eldoret Airport, Hon Kositany, shared his insights on the venture's potential to elevate cargo traffic, improve connectivity, and stimulate trade, business opportunities and strengthening the region's position in global trade networks.

Hon. Kositany further emphasized the crucial role of air cargo in the aviation industry and highlighted KAA's ongoing strategy to bolster cargo handling capabilities across its network.

"Air cargo is an integral component of the aviation industry acknowledging the importance of public-private partnerships in developing and advancing the Authority's projects" said Kositany
