KEFWA urge football players to join the association as members to champion for their rights and welfare

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 27... Kenya Football Welfare Association (KEFWA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Zetech University in Ruiru as they celebrated incredible progress they have made over the past year.

KEFWA President James Situma, former leaders Nicholas Muyoti, Innocent Mutiso, renowned coach Robert Matano, Radio presenter Jacob Ghost Mulee, players  among others were in attendance.

The Association with over 5,000 members continues to advocate welfare of Kenyan footballers while calling upon players to take up educational opportunities as they have partnererd with Zetech University adding that education is important and should not be ignored at all cost.

"KEFWA partnership with Zetech University, FIFPRO and HBO Academy offer opportunities for players to advance both academically and professional" said KEFWA President , James Situma.

KEFWA urged that their is need for football players take up financial literacy to enable them budget well their money urging that planning is crucial to build their future as  they need to invest to avoid struggles upon hanging up their boots.

"Our policies and programs are designed to address and resolve issues effectively ensuring that every player rights are protected and voices heard" said SG Makori. 

Robert Matano a renowned coach on his part urged former players and those still in active football to join KEFWA as members to help empower association to effectively advocate for their rights calling up coaches to treat players equally.

Furthermore, Jacob Ghost Mulee lauded KEFWA President James Situma for efforts they have put in improving football status in the country adding that more should be done to take Kenyan football to higher hights.

Ahead of Federation elections they added that they should vote wisely and have people who can champion rights, players welfare and improve football industry. 

Situma further adds that they will have a sitting with Ministry of Sports to discuss the state of football in the country and to bring on board, share ideas and to have both listen in advocating for players rights and improving football in the country.

"Together we will continue to advance the welfare of Kenyan football players and strive for excellence" added Situma.
