Ms Sussie Ingosi Ndanyi appointed NCCK Deputy General Secretary

NAIROBI, Kenya, July 29...The appointment takes effect July 29 2024 as provided for in the NCCK constitution, the Deputy General Secretary serves one year of Six years renewable once. Prior the appointment Ms Ndanyi served as a Member of the Executive Board of Friends World Committee for consultation, leardership of Friends United meeting and Treasurer of NCCK Nairobi region. Furthermore Ms Ndanyi holds a Master in Business Administration in Project Management from Kenyatta University, Master of Divinity in peace and Justice from Earlham school of region and Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Marketing from the University of Nairobi. "She brings to the NCCK a wealth of Experience in church Administration, advocacy, operational and financial oversight, risk assessment control, policy formulation and implementation" reads a statement by NCCK.

MCK, KEG condemns attacks on Journalists covering protests

Media council of Kenya (MCK) with Kenya Editors' Guild (KEG) have come out to Condemn continued attacks on journalists going about their work despite being well identified and visibly branded. "The shooting of Catherine Wanjeri Kariuki a Nakuru-based journalist attached to Kameme TV, while in the company of other journalists and the police is shameful and terrifying, we wish her speedy recovery and affirm our support" reads a statement by MCK. Kenya and China signs MOUs to promote Film and Theatre

Government disburses June 2024 funds for Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Initiative

The Ministry of Labour and Social protection on Friday 28th June 2024 released Ksh 3, 215, 992,000 for June 2024 payment to beneficiaries enrolled in the Inua Jamii programme. 570, 263 are new beneficiaries on boarded by the ministry, with totap beneficiaries in June payroll stands at 1, 607, 996 up from 1, 037, 733 in May 2024. This follows President William Ruto's directive in 2023 to upscale the programme to 2.5M beneficiaries which will be done in phases. Payments will commence on 3rd July 2024 all the new beneficiaries who have opened bank accounts will be paid from Wednesday. Inua Jamii Program is a Government Cash Transfer initiative that supports the most vulnerable members of the community by providing them with stipend to cushion them from poverty , hunger and improve their lives.
