West Pokot and Turkana Enterprises receives over KSH 290M in Loans from USAID Kuza’s Impact for Northern Kenya Fund

Prior to her appointment Mokaya served as register Judicial Service commision since 2012 with over 27 years experience in the legal profession. Hon.Mokaya holds a Bachelor of Law degree from university of Nairobi and a post graduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law And aso a certified public secretary (CPS-K). CS Murkomen announces introduction of new features for school buses to prevent accidents

NAIROBI,Kenya Mar 19... Cabinet secretary for Transport Kipchumba Murkomen has issued a directive to school bus builders for use of material and  technology that will protect passengers in case of accidents  to curb accidents.  The statement comes following a series of accidents involving Kenyatta University bus and truck in Voi claiming lives of  at least 11 students and 46 others injured perished where by in Bomet county a matatu rammed into a tractor killing 5 people on spot leaving others with injuries and on Monday Kapsabet school bus overturned on Kabarnet marigat road killing a teacher and a student. Eldoret International Airport resumes cargo flight operations

Private hospitals to stop its services to NHIF beneficiaries

NAIROBI,Kenya Mar 14... The Kenya Association of Private Hospitals (KAPH) has announced that its stopping service delivery to NHIF beneficiaries due to the unpaid debts to private hospitals ,(KAPH) consists of small,medium and large privately owned health facilities in urban "Our member hospitals have been forced to take expensive credit,lay off workers and default on supplier payments to continued offering care to NHIF beneficiaries" The Association further claims that NHIF have been remitting very little amount of money owed which is not in a position to sustain operations adding that facilities closing some hospital operations or closing the health care facilities completely due to non payment for service offered  "For the above reasons our member facilities shall not be able to continue offering quality health services without payment ,we have issued a 7 day demand notice the NHIF/SHA to release all funds owed to members as per our contractual agreements

Relief for Kenyans as fuel prices decrease

Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced maximum retail fuel prices in the country for the period 15th March to 14th April 2024 Super petrol decrease by ksh7.21 per litre, Diesel ksh 5.09 per litre amd Kerosene ksh 4.49 per litre this comes in a period  where kenyan shilling continues to gain against the dollar "The prices are inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the finance Act 2023, the tax amendment Act 2020 and the revised rates for exercise duty adjusted for inflation as per legal notice NO. 194 of 2020" reads a statement by EPRA Mombasa will have petrol retail at ksh 195.97,Diesel 187.21,kerosene 185.58,with Nairobi selling at 199.15 petrol, Diesel 190.38 and Kerosene 188.74. Kisumu will have Petrol sell at  ksh 198.97,Diesel 190.59, Kerosene 188.96, on the other hand Nakuru Petrol ksh 198.21,Diesel 189.82 ,Kerosene  188.21 while Eldoret will have the prices retail at ksh 198.98

PSC denies claims of journalist Jacque maribe appointment to Public service ministry

Haiti Prime Minister Ariel Henry has resigned

NAIROBI, Kenya Mar 12... CARICOM has confirmed that Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry has resigned as the Caribbean island’s head of government. Henry’s resignation comes amid growing civil unrest in Haiti and numerous calls made by, a notorious Haitian ex-cop turned gang leader, Jimmy Cherizier, for him to resign. CBK issues licences to 19 more digital credit firms

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has announced licensing of additional 19 digital providers (DCPs) bringing the total number of DCPs to 51 following the licensing of 32 DCPs announced in march 2023 CBK has received 480 applications since march 2022 and has worked closely with the applicants in reviewing their applications , in addition CBK has engaged other regulators and agencies pertinent to the licensing process including the Office of Data Protection Commisioner   "The focus of the engagements has be inter alia on business models, consumer protection, fitness and proprietor of proposed shareholders,  directors and management, this is to ensure adherance to the relevant laws and importantly that interest customers are safeguarded  " states a statement by CBK Other applicants are at different stages in the process largely awaiting submission of requisite documentation 

CJ Martha Koome annouces magistrate's dismissal from service over alledged gross misconduct

The commission on diverse dates received a total of five petitions for the removal of Hon.Justice Mohamed Noor kullow from office as Judge of environment and land court for alleged violations of constitution of Kenya 2010 and judicial service conduct. Following a panel appointed by the commision , the commision was satisfied that three out of the five  petitions as well as proceedings at the commissions own motion had disclosed grounds for the removal of Hon.Justice kullow from office  over cross misconduct , incompetence and violation of the judicial service code of conduct.
