Flood Emergency Response Action in Nairobi (FERN) launched to help communities affected by recent flood crisis

Mukuru Slums Development Projects (MSDP), Concern Worldwide Kenya in Partnership with USAID have launched Flood Emergency Response Action (FERN) in Mukuru, Nairobi aiming to help those affected by floods following the recent flood crisis in the country. The project aims to help the community with Non-Food Items (NFI) including Water containers, basins, sanitary items and Sanitary towels in line with hygiene promotion messages done by community health promoters to address the immediate needs arising. Similarly 7,800 households that were affected in those areas will benefit from Ksh 4,500 cash transfer initiative for four months to benefeciaries already identified to help them secure services and items that they require, the program will see close to 20,000 individuals benefit.
